A recent survey seems to have confirmed that a personal referral and recommendation has more influence than online reviews. The Prop Tech Firm On The Move commissioned the survey that covered a sample group of over 2,000 home owners and an unspecified number of “property related consumers”.
The survey revealed that only 18% of vendors favor reviews over a recommendation when choosing their estate agent, this was only slightly higher, 24% in the millennials aged between 18 and 34.
This is also true when choosing a conveyancer, with only 17% relying on reviews over a friends, family or professional recommendation.
